A synthetic peptide from aa region 2-50 of human AQP9 conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen.

FUNCTION: Forms a channel with a broad specificity. Mediates passage of a wide variety of non-charged solutes including carbamides, polyols, purines, and pyrimidines in a phloretin- and mercury-sensitive manner, whereas amino acids, cyclic sugars, Na+, K+, Cl-, and deprotonated monocarboxylates are excluded. Also permeable to urea but not to glycerol. Aquaporins contain two tandem repeats each containing three membrane-spanning domains and a pore-forming loop with the signature motif Asn-Pro-Ala (NPA).
Tissue specificity: Highly expressed in peripheral leukocytes. Also expressed in liver, lung, and spleen.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
