A synthetic peptide from 1t cytoplasmic domain of human Zinc transporter ZIP1 (SLC39A1, ZIP1) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the antigen.

FUNCTION: Mediates zinc uptake. May function as a major endogenous zinc uptake transporter in many cells of the body. Responsible for the rapid uptake and accumulation of physiologically effective zinc in prostate cells.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Note: Shows a vesicular localization corresponding partially to the endoplasmic reticulum in several epithelial cell lines.
TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Ubiquitous. Expressed in most adult and fetal tissues including the epidermis.
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
