A synthetic peptide from aa region 1000-1050 of human MUNC13-1 (UNC13A) conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The peptide is homologous in mouse and rat.

FUNCTION: Plays a role in vesicle maturation during exocytosis as a target of the diacylglycerol second messenger pathway. Involved in neurotransmitter release by acting in synaptic vesicle priming prior to vesicle fusion and participates in the activity-dependent refilling of readily releasable vesicle pool (RRP). Essential for synaptic vesicle maturation in most excitatory/glutamatergic but not inhibitory/GABA-mediated synapses
. Also involved in secretory granule priming in insulin secretion
Tissue specificity: Expressed in pancreatic islet cells. Expressed in brain, with highest levels in the olfactory bulb, striatum, cerebral cortex, hippocampus and cerebellum.

Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
