A synthetic peptide from rat GAPDH conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The antigen is homologous in mouse and shares 90% identity with human sequence.

FUNCTION: May bind tRNA. Has uracil-DNA-glycosylase activity. May activate transcription in neurons. Functions as a killing protein in apoptosis when over-expressed.
CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: D-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate + phosphate + NAD+ = 3-phospho-D-glyceroyl phosphate + NADH.
PATHWAY: Carbohydrate degradation; glycolysis; pyruvate from D-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate: step 1/5.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasm.
TISSUE SPECIFICITY: High levels in skeletal muscle and heart, low levels in liver, brain, and kidney.
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
