Immunogen

Target
FUNCTION: Is thought to be involved in the organization of the cytomatrix at the nerve terminals active zone (CAZ) which regulates neurotransmitter release. Seems to act through binding to ERC2/CAST1. Essential in regulated neurotransmitter release from a subset of brain glutamatergic synapses. Involved in the formation of the retinal photoreceptor ribbon synapses.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasm. Cell junction, synapse, synaptosome. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton.
TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Exclusively expressed in brain.

Storage
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.

Rabbit antibody to Bassoon (1000-1050) IHC on paraffin sections of human brain using Rabbit antibody to Bassoon (1000-1050): OSB00024W.
HIER: 1 mM EDTA, pH 8 for 20 min using Thermo's PT Module
Detection was done using Novolink HRP polymer from Leica following manufacturer's instruction
Primary antibody: dilution 1: 1000, incubated 30 min at RT (using Autostainer)
Sections were counterstained with Harris Hematoxylin.
