FUNCTION: Plays an important role in the excretion/detoxification of endogenous and exogenous organic anions, especially from the brain and kidney. Involved in the transport basolateral of steviol, fexofenadine. Transports benzylpenicillin (PCG), estrone-3-sulfate (E1S), cimetidine (CMD), 2,4-dichloro-phenoxyacetate (2,4-D), p-amino-hippurate (PAH), acyclovir (ACV) and ochratoxin (OTA).
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Basolateral cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein Potential. Note: Localizes on the brush border membrane of the choroid epithelial cells. Localizes to the basolateral membrane of the proximal tubular cells. Localizes on the abluminal and possibly, luminal membrane of the brain capillary endothelial cells (BCEC)
TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Highly expressed in kidney. Expressed in developing bone. Weakly expressed in brain and eye.
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
