Rb933-240509-WS

A synthetic peptide from mouse STIM2 conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The peptide is homologous in rat and human.

Stromal interaction molecule 2

FUNCTION: Functions as a highly sensitive Ca²⁺ sensor in the endoplasmic reticulum which activates both store-operated and store-independent Ca²⁺-influx. Regulates basal cytosolic and endoplasmic reticulum Ca²⁺ concentrations. Upon mild variations of the endoplasmic reticulum Ca²⁺ concentration, translocates from the endoplasmic reticulum to the plasma membrane where it probably activates the Ca²⁺ release-activated Ca²⁺ (CRAC) channels ORAI1, ORAI2 and ORAI3. May inhibit STIM1-mediated Ca²⁺ influx.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein, Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Single-pass type I membrane. Note: Translocates from the endoplasmic reticulum to punctual endoplasmic reticulum-cell plasma membrane junctions in response to decrease in endoplasmic reticulum Ca²⁺ concentration.
Tissue specificity: Expressed in all tissues and tumor cell lines examined.

Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
