A synthetic peptide from aa region 600-650 of rat CNGA2 conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The peptide is homologous in mouse and human.

Function: Odorant signal transduction is probably mediated by a G-protein coupled cascade using cAMP as second messenger. The olfactory channel can be shown to be activated by cyclic nucleotides which leads to a depolarization of olfactory sensory neurons.
Subunit structure: Heterooligomer of OCNC1 and OCNC2 subunits.
Subcellular location: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Tissue specificity: Olfactory neurons.
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
