Background	FUNCTION: This protein is associated with nerve growth. It is a major component of the motile "growth cones" that form the tips of elongating axons. SUBUNIT: Binds calmodulin with a greater affinity in the absence of Ca(2+) than in its presence. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side. Cell projection, growth cone membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side. Cell junction, synapse. Note: Cytoplasmic surface of growth cone and synaptic plasma membranes.

Reconstitution	Reconstitute in 500 µl of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
Storage	Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
