Immunogen

Target
Function: Required for oligodendrocyte and motor neuron specification in the spinal cord, as well as for the development of somatic motor neurons in the hindbrain. Cooperates with OLIG1 to establish the pMN domain of the embryonic neural tube. Antagonist of V2 interneuron and of NKX2-2-induced V3 interneuron development.
Subcellular location: Nucleus. Cytoplasm
Tissue specificity: Expressed in the brain, in oligodendrocytes. Strongly expressed in oligodendrogliomas, while expression is weak to moderate in astrocytomas. Expression in glioblastomas highly variable.
Involvement in disease: A chromosomal aberration involving OLIG2 may be a cause of a form of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL). Translocation t(14;21)(q11.2;q22) with TCRA.

Storage
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.

Rabbit antibody to OLIG2 (80-130) WB on mouse brain lysate using Rabbit antibody to OLIG2 (OSO00005W) at 1: 500 dilution.
Rabbit antibody to OLIG2 (80-130) IHC on paraffin sections of rat spinal cord using Rabbit antibody to OLIG2 (OSO00005W).
Animal was perfused with Autoperfuser at 100 mmHg with 300 ml PBS and then 4%PFA. Tissues were extracted and further fixed for 2 hours at room temperature before being embedded in paraffin.
HIER: 1 mM EDTA, pH 8 for 20 min using Thermo\\\'s PT Module
Detection was done using Novolink HRP polymer from Leica following manufacturer\\\'s instruction.
Primary antibody: dilution 1: 1000, incubated 30 min at RT (using Autostainer)
Sections were counterstained with Harris Hematoxylin.
