Background	FUNCTION: Receptor for ADP and ATP coupled to G-proteins that inhibit the adenylyl cyclase second messenger system. Not activated by UDP and UTP. Involved in platelets aggregation. Defects in P2RY12 are a cause of bleeding disorder. Tissue specificity: Highly expressed in the platelets, lower levels in the brain. Lowest levels in the lung, appendix, pituitary and adrenal gland. Expressed in the spinal cord and in the fetal brain. Subcellular location: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.

Storage	Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
