Background	FUNCTION: V-SNARE that mediates vesicle transport pathways through interactions with t-SNAREs on the target membrane. These interactions are proposed to mediate aspects of the specificity of vesicle trafficking and to promote fusion of the lipid bilayers. May be concerned with increased secretion of cytokines associated with cellular senescence. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Single-pass type IV membrane protein. Cytoplasmic vesicle › secretory vesicle › synaptic vesicle membrane; Single-pass type IV membrane protein. Cytoplasmic vesicle › clathrin-coated vesicle membrane; Single-pass type IV membrane protein. Note: Enriched in small synaptic vesicles and clathrin-coated vesicles from nerve terminals. Isoform 1/VTI1A localizes to the cell bodies of hippocampal neurons as well as to nerve terminals. Tissue specificity: Specifically expressed in the neuronal tissues cerebellum, cortex and hippocampus. Isoform 1 VTI1A is expressed in the same neuronal tissues but also in lung, liver, kidney and spleen.

Reconstitution	Reconstitute in 100 µl of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
Storage	Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
